Hermansen Woods

This beautiful 15-acre woodland off the shores of Lake Como was donated to the Conservancy by Al Hermansen in 2000.   It has hiking trails throughout the property and has undergone extensive restoration to restore the native woodland habitat.

Two intermittent streams run through the property, which eventually feed into Lake Como.   There are also two small bog/wetland areas within the property.   The site is home to a variety of northern hardwoods, including sugar maple, elm, black walnut, basswood and red oak.   This diversity in trees attracts a varieity of wildlife including fox and owls, deer, squirrel and turkey.
